Business Evaluation & Strategic Decisions

Independent, evidence-based assessment before significant commitments.

Some decisions are expensive to reverse. This work gives owners, leadership teams and investors an independent view of a business, an opportunity or a technology estate, tests the assumptions behind it, and sets out the risks and the recommendation plainly.

Who it helps

Owners, boards and investors evaluating an expansion, a new venture, an acquisition target, a major investment, or the readiness of an organisation for its next stage.

Questions it answers

  • Is this business model commercially viable?
  • Is this expansion or new venture feasible, and under what conditions?
  • What are the operational and technology risks in this business?
  • Which assumptions does the decision depend on, and how sensitive is it to them?

What it covers

Scope of the work

Business model and commercial viability assessment

Test whether the model can generate sustainable revenue and margin under realistic assumptions.

Market opportunity assessment

Assess market size, demand, competition and the conditions for capturing the opportunity.

Business expansion feasibility

Evaluate new locations, segments or offerings for demand, capability, cost and risk.

Operational and technology due diligence

Review operations, systems, architecture, data, security and technical debt ahead of a transaction or investment.

Technology and digital maturity assessment

Benchmark technology, data and digital capabilities against what the business strategy requires.

Investment assumptions and scenario analysis

Make assumptions explicit and model base, downside and upside scenarios.

Strategic risk identification

Surface the commercial, operational, technology and execution risks that could change the decision.

Evidence-based recommendations

State the recommendation, the evidence behind it, and the conditions under which it would change.

What you receive

  • Assessment report with findings and evidence
  • Scenario analysis with explicit assumptions
  • Risk register and mitigation options
  • Clear recommendation and decision criteria

Where technology fits

Technology due diligence is often where hidden cost sits: platforms that will not scale, integrations held together by individuals, security gaps or unmanaged technical debt. Assessing these alongside the commercial case gives a fuller picture of what is really being bought or built.

Business analysis and operational or technology due diligence are distinct from regulated financial, legal, tax and accounting services, including financial audit, valuation opinions and legal due diligence. Those remain with the appropriate qualified professionals.
