Building Jasabo: digital systems that fit local businesses

One platform now serves businesses as different as a yoga institute, a boutique and food caterers, each with its own setup, built around how it already works.

Situation

Local businesses such as yoga institutes, boutiques, caterers, salons and restaurants are a large market that most software serves poorly. Many have no digital presence at all. Others run on scattered tools: WhatsApp orders, Instagram messages and spreadsheets that never connect.

The challenge

Most software asks the business to change to fit the tool, through fixed templates and features priced in tiers. Owners new to digital also fear that going online means replacing how they already work. The business question was how to build one product that fits very different businesses, costs little to start and keeps physical and digital running side by side.

What we did

  1. DiagnoseResearched how different local businesses actually run, and the specific points where owners and customers lose time, orders and information.
  2. StrategiseChose a modular model: each owner picks only the capabilities that fit their business, across customer experience, operations, marketing and sales, and insights. Pricing is credit-based, with every feature available at every level.
  3. BuildCustomers open a QR code or link with no app or login. Each business gets its own address, content can appear on a schedule, payments run through a licensed aggregator, and owners manage everything from a phone.
  4. OnboardSet up each business with its owner, trained them to run it, and stayed a phone call away for support.

Outcome

Businesses in yoga, boutique retail, saree selling, food catering and events have been onboarded on the same platform, each with visibly different pages, sections and language.

Owner feedback is turned directly into new capabilities, so the platform grows from real problems rather than guesses. These outcomes are described qualitatively; usage figures will be added as they are tracked.

What made it work

Technology should fit the business, not the other way round. For owners new to digital, the setup and support matter as much as the software. The product only works when someone helps the business start.
